Comprehensive Plan

Per our requirements with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the District must post for public review components of the Comprehensive Plan for 28 days.  Over the 2018-2019 school year, a committee of parents, teachers and administration reviewed survey results, discussed direction of the district and the needs of students, families and staff in the areas of professional education and safe and supportive schools.  Components include teacher professional development, induction of new teachers, gifted screening processes and overall support for students.  This portion of the plan will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education on November 20, 2019.  The plan covers the 20-21, 21-22 & 22-23 school years.  Additional components of the Comprehensive Plan are due March 30, 2020.  Please provide any feedback on the current submission to Dr. Wagner at swagner@burrell.k12.pa.us

Family Engagement Seminars

Meaningful and informed family involvement is a powerful predictor of student success. Students attain more when schools and families work together!
Students whose families are involved in their education typically receive higher grades and test scores, complete more homework, have better attendance, and exhibit more positive attitudes and behaviors. Children of involved families also graduate at higher rates and are more likely to enroll in post-secondary education programs.
